Dong Ky village is located in Dong Quang commune, Tu Son town, Bac Ninh. The village festival is held on the 4th day of the first lunar month every year. Although it is only a small-scale festival, the Dong Ky Village Festival is still famous throughout the country by maintaining its unique tradition.

Dong Ky village firecracker festival is the most unique feature of the village festival, it is held on the first day of the new year when people do not have to go to work, so it is even more crowded.

Previously, the festival lasted about 10 days, starting from the 4th day of the lunar new year, there were many interesting contents, but the climax of the festival was still the custom of firecracker competition, firecracker procession and firecrackers. On the basis of inheriting and promoting the values ​​of traditional festivals, the Dong Ky village festival for many years now no longer lasts for weeks, but is most concentrated on January 4 with many traditional ceremonies.

The highlight of the festival is the firecracker procession. The procession of firecrackers is prepared from the early morning of the 4th, but it must not be until 9 am to begin. The firecrackers in procession are two large cannons representing the First and Second cannons. When two large firecrackers were carried out from the house of the head of the ceremony to the communal house with hundreds of people, the whole village eagerly joined the procession.

In addition to the firecracker procession, cultural and sports activities around the Dong Ky village firecracker festival are equally exciting such as singing quan ho, and competitions in badminton, volleyball, chess, etc. cockfighting…

With its own color and culture, this is also one of the festivals in Bac Ninh that attracts a large number of foreign tourists.

Coming to Dong Ky on the days of the festival, you can listen to Quan ho singing on the boat all day on the 4th and the mornings of the 5th and 6th. This is also an opportunity for the village Tuong team to freely perform to serve the people. Tuong plays are performed right in the communal yard, every evening the village stage is red, sometimes in the afternoon the Tuong drum resounds to urge people to come and see.
